Learning Differences

All learning differences are accommodated and supported at Lydian Academy, including but not limited to:

Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Auditory processing disorder (APD), Language Processing Disorder (LPD), Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NVLD), executive functioning deficits, processing delays, and or working memory challenges.

Students with learning differences often feel left behind in the classroom setting and do not measure up to their peers. Information is sometimes missed, remains unclear, and the curriculum becomes inaccessible. Grades are not accurately reflective of a student’s understanding and abilities, leading to loss of confidence, self-esteem, and even school avoidance.

At Lydian, instruction is one-on-one, and teachers can quickly build rapport and identify and adjust to a student’s learning style, allowing them to assess and provide support in areas of growth while enriching areas of strength. As a result, with the help and guidance of their teacher, students learn to become aware of their specific learning needs and strengths and emerge more confident, successful students.

Learning differences require understanding the best approach for each subject. The one-on-one model is a perfect and safe setting for students to explore their needs and develop tools that will help them thrive in their educational journey and life.
