When you register for a Summer class, you tell us your availability and preferences, and we assign you one of our highly qualified, core instructors to teach the class in our one-on-one format. Our classes are taught in 2 to 3-hour blocks daily in the summer, meaning most students complete a semester class in 2.5 to 4 weeks and a yearlong sequence in 5-8 weeks.
Lydian's Summer classes are just like school - the same curricular content, tests, quizzes, assignments, and grades, but in a class size of ONE. One student, one teacher. Think of our classes as a cross between the classroom for content, and tutoring for the teaching style.
Please reach out to us to learn more about our summer programs.
Students can take advantage of our summer sessions to accomplish any of the following:
- strengthen their foundation in expository writing or mathematics through personalized one-on-one workshops - NEW THIS YEAR!
- acquire tools and practice in time management, organization, homework completion, and study skills in our small group executive functioning workshops - NEW THIS YEAR!
- preview a challenging course they will be taking in the upcoming academic year
- lighten their course load for fall or accelerate their learning in subject sequences like math or foreign language by taking a UC-approved course for credit
- remediate a “D” or “F” in order to re-establish four-year college eligibility
- dip their toes in the water with a one-on-one class to see if a full-time Lydian program would be the right placement moving forward
- wrap up current courses and finish incompletes so they are on track for Fall 2021
No matter the reason, Lydian summer programs help students catch up, succeed, and enjoy learning in a one-on-one interactive setting with Lydian’s core faculty members who are passionate about their subjects and teaching.
