Early College High School (ECHS) at Lydian is much like Middle College in our surrounding school districts, but with more personalization and flexibility. For Lydian students with the academic maturity to test the waters on a college campus, they have the unique opportunity to work towards high school graduation requirements while simultaneously earning college credit.
How It Works
Early College High School (ECHS) students blend their coursework at Lydian with community college classes, allowing them to build an impressive high school transcript that includes courses taken at the collegiate level. On the high school transcript, these college-level courses are weighted the same way as high school AP courses. The time spent in class with their professors and community college peers is invaluable in preparing students for what they will experience when they arrive at postsecondary destinations after high school. Because most of the courses are UC-transferable, an added benefit is that ECHS can help reduce both Lydian and college tuition costs.
